La Lajita is situated between Tarajalejo and Costa Calma right next to the beach Fuerteventura. La Lajita can be reached via the FV-2, which runs along the southeastern side of the island. A special highlight is the Oasis Park in La Lajita.
The fishermen's village with about 1.500 inhabitants is part of the municipal district of Pajara. Driving southbound on the FV 2 La Lajita will attract attention because you feel like driving through an oasis with the palm trees and flowers on both sides of the road. Since having a zoo (Oasis Park), a botanic garden and the opportunity to do a safari on camels, the town is a great change to the typical beach holiday. The Oasis Park also has a restaurant, a souvenier shop and many animal shows so that you can spend the whole afternoon there.
